The Importance of Training in the Workplace - textSectionComponent

Training is a key aspect of every job role at Gallowglass. From ensuring that each member of staff is kept up to date with health and safety regulations to giving crew members opportunities to further their careers, we believe that training is one of the most important elements of a successful business. Read on to find out just how important training is in the workplace:

Initial Training

Our On-boarding process gives confidence to both new starters and to the company that they will be able to complete the necessary tasks to a high level. This is an essential part of the employment process, as it gives new crew members a chance to ask any questions before getting stuck into the role, as well as an oversight of the company and what is to come. On-Boarding is an essential process for all new crew and staff.

All of our new crew members are given in-house crew training thus ensuring that every member of our team has the knowledge they need to be able to undertake any of the jobs necessary. Those who are coming in as a specialist may be given additional training to bring them up to speed with our own policies, procedures and methods. It doesn't matter whether a new employee has 20 years' worth of experience or just 20 days, the initial training process helps to bring consistency to the teams and ensures that everyone is ready to take on their first challenge!

Ongoing Training

On-going training and refresher training courses are also of paramount importance within the workplace. These ensure that the crew strengthen their skill sets, build their confidence and are constantly challenged in addition to being able to apply for promotion. Training happens during the quieter months and adds a different dimension to the working week in addition to offering an opportunity to team build and meet crew from all the Gallowglass regions.

Training Opportunities

Training Opportunities within a workplace is a great way to boost team morale and help all to strive to be the best they can be. Some find that it can be difficult to study around their working hours, so a work-based training opportunity gives the best of both worlds. Employers can then benefit from the higher skill levels, and a sense of job satisfaction can be achieved to a greater degree for the employee – making it a win-win situation for all! Satisfied employees have been proven to work harder, and are more likely to stay with a company. This is furthered by opportunities for employees to take on challenges that give variety to their day-to-day jobs and may lead to promotions.

Gallowglass offers an incredibly wide range of training opportunities from the first day of employment. We're always exploring exciting new training programs, both in-house and outsourced to ensure that we provide the best service in the event crew industry. Whether you currently work for us or are looking for event crew jobs in London, Manchester or any of our other locations, get in touch today to see where your skills could take you!
